Is this Amazon deal real? How to check price history
A "60% off" badge means nothing if the "was" price was never really charged. Here's a 2-minute check before you buy.
1. Look up the price history
Paste the Amazon link into a free price tracker:
- CamelCamelCamel — free price-history charts and email alerts for Amazon.
- Keepa — detailed charts, also as a browser extension.
If today's price is at or near the lowest point on the chart, it's a genuine deal. If the item was the same price a few weeks ago, the "discount" is just marketing.
2. Check what the "was" price means
Amazon shows "List Price" or "Typical price". Typical price (the recent going rate) is a more honest comparison than a manufacturer's list price nobody pays.
3. Check the seller
"Ships from and sold by Amazon.com" is the safest. For third-party sellers, check their rating and how long they've been selling.
4. Read the recent reviews
Sort by most recent and look at the 1–3 star reviews. Sudden floods of vague 5-star reviews are a warning sign.
5. Compare elsewhere
Search the exact model number at another big retailer before checking out.
Every deal on BargainBlitzer shows the price and "was" price read from Amazon at refresh time — still worth a quick history check before you buy.
Prices are in USD from Amazon.com and were correct at refresh time.
